  Premier PRO 2 and JVC deck issue

  I recently purchased a BR-DV3000U JVC DV/MiniDv Deck for capturing. When I first connected the deck it interfaced perfectly with my Premeir pro. When I went back later to capture some mini DV footage it wouldn’t interface with the deck and is now continually crashing premiere every time. I set the device control options to JVC but it doesn’t help. Does anyone know of a solution?

  I had one of those a while ago. Make sure that the output switch on the deck specifically states DV. Since the deck has various I/O interfaces, it may not be selecting the right output option.

  If that doesn’t work, try the following:

  a) A new fire-wire card
  b) A new fire-wire cable.

  Thanks for the advice. I found a solution. I have never had a problem with capture interfacing with sony or canon products in premier. I hooked up one of my XL2s and captured some footage. Then unhooked and reattached the firewire from the JVC deck. When the action window popped open to either select windows media, premier pro or take no action. I selected take no action. When I opened the capture window it interfaced perfectly. It was a strange resolution,
  but with premeir quarks I am finding out more and more they usually are. Any how thanks for the advice! It was much appreciated.
