  premiere pro: vcr to mpeg problem

  I’ve been using premier pro a little over a month. I’ve just started turning vcr tapes into mpegs. I previously worked with DVD’s. My problem is that the capture keeps stopping. I end up with a dozen or more clips. I sometimes have frame drop outs.

  The only thing I’ve done that reduces the clips is to rewind and replay the tape, several times. But that doesn’t stop it altogether.

  Any suggestions?

  So, is the capture stopping because of dropped frames? If eiter do a search for Capture drop frames in the archives and you will find tons of possible reasons and fixes, including drive settings, defrag, etc.

  Or you could try downloading a freeware called Windv, that was the only one that would allow me to capture without dropped frames back in the old days.
