My lack of understanding about pixels may have sunk me. I won’t give the stupid details of why, but I created a square pixel project to work with some animation output files I created in another program. It seemed to be the right solution because it looked to display correctly. However, when I rendered a section (which I didn’t do until now like an idiot), it squeezes the pic vertically.

Now my project is do tommorow and I have a ton of work to do on it today? Is it possible to change a project to a different aspect ratio? I can’t find a place to do that. Other solutions? Thanks a million.

Import the original project into a newly created project with the correct settings.

Thanks Steven. I love it when something I overlooked is so simple (but I hate it because I feel stupid).

So there is no way to take a 720×540 sq pixel file and not loose any of the width in Premiere (even if I have black space above and below)? I’ve fooled around with the intrepret footage settings, but can’t seem to figure out what would work.

    Thanks again.

A 720X540 file will almost exactly fit (720X534 would have been better). The square pixels should fit down into the rectangular pixels without a hitch.

Hold it. 720×540 is square pixel, 4:3 exactly.

Are you mixing this with DV, or outputting it to DV?

It sounds to me like the project ISN’T set for square pixel, but your clips are…is that correct?
