  AE 7 Language BUG: prog becomes BILINGUAL

  Hi,

  I have XP in french, but need AE in english since I learned it this way and the french version terms are just bogus to say the least…

  So I have installed AE in english to begin with. But what I get when I open the program is a BILINGUAL ONE. All gray areas/windows have their descriptions written in english, but all the above tabs (file, effects, edit, layers, etc) and sub-menus are all in french!

  But, it seems the problem was arranged simply by clicking on the english shortcut in the Language option.

  Here’s where it gets weird: I tried out all other language shortcuts, and they all open FULLY in their own languages… The BUG is only happening on the english one for me, how ironically convenient… So it would suggest that it’s not necessarily a XP-related problem.

  I saw simliar concerns on the Adobe forum, tried as mentioned, to uninstall all, resetting my regional options for the keyboard strickly to english by deleting anything french, restarted the PC, and yet again, it stays BILINGUAL.

  Anyone knows how to get around this annoyance?

  There’s a directory called zdictionaries in your Support Files folder. Try to delete or edit those. They contain localisation info and maybe AE is loading them even when using the explicit language shortcut for English.

  Since your Windows is in French, thought you really spoke french.

  Good idea, but I forgot to mention that I had tried that as well… Renaming, deleting the french one, but no luck…
