    Hi there
I was wondering if there is any way to automate a series of 15 second clips outo to a folder. I guess you might call it a batch conversion question. Because of server limitation we want to convert the files to mpeg2 and then import them to Flash. The goal is to keep the file size small and put les strain on the server.

I’d also be interested in any leads on new innovations made to deploy video to the web.

    thanks in advance
    Andrew

The PremierePro Help file mentions something about exporting batch lists but I was unable to find out anything more on it.

You can bypass the mpeg2 step by exporting your clips directly to a FLV file from the File->Export->Adobe Media Encoder and selecting the Flash FLV format.

    Cheers.

We tried that, but we like taking the mpeg2 files through sorenson before exporting to Flash. Also, because we need to keep the video files down to a specific size I still need to break the final timeline down into 15sec segments. So I would still be faced with exporting each of the segments individually.

I imagine there’s some type of macro that can be written that would recognize the chapter marks and “poof” tell it to take each chapter and export to disk and use this sequence of file names.

    thanks

You could copy it from the Premiere Pro sequence and paste it into an After Effects timeline. Then you could set up each “Make Movie” one at a time, but export all at once.

Sounds like a good idea. I’ll give it a shot. Just looking to save some time.
    thanks
