Default mask color
Posted by Erin Patrick on February 22, 2006 at 8:35 pmDoes anyone know a way to change the default mask color? I seem to NEVER want it to be bright yellow, and the extra step to change it is time consuming.
Thanks for any help!Mark Moser replied 18 years, 2 months ago 3 Members · 4 Replies -

February 22, 2006 at 10:18 pmactually, you can change the color of just about anything there, except masks. That’s the first place I looked.
I know the process of changing the color is easy, but each second I spend on that is a second wasted.
That’s why I’d like an alternative.
Thank you for your time anyway, I appreciate it. -

March 6, 2008 at 1:49 amI feel your pain. It definitely feels like I’m changing the mask color more then not. I’m often scrambling to reach a fast approaching deadline because I have to rely on other peoples work. Anything to make the process feel less frustrating makes for a more productive session. I guess I could drink less coffee…. naahh 😉
I’ve changed mine to red using this source:
https://www.creativemac.com/2004/01_jan/tutorials/aeqt1040127.htm
I’m on windows and it works just fine.basically find this section in your preferences file:
[“Mask Colors”]
“Cycle Label Colors” = 00
“Default Color (0xAARRGGBB)” = “00ffff00”
“Interpolated Mask Dim Factor” = “0.750000”Change your default color to the hex of your choice! (The first two zeros are for alpha, leave them be.)
Hope this helps someone.
