  Using Music in Videos

  I have been told two different things about using licensed music in video projects that are not for broadcast. 1)It is O.K. to use any music as long as the video is not for broadcast purposes. 2) You can only use licensed music if you pay for it. Which is correct? Thanks. Trying to avoid a lawsuit.

  2) is the only correct answer. Take a look at SonicFire for Royalty Free music.

  I get no commissions and have no ties to Digital Juice, but I haven’t found any bettter deals on quality, royalty free music than this.

  You need some musician friends. Trade music videos for music. I have albums full of music I am free to use because I filmed the artists shows for them for free. If you can shoot and edit, there are a ton of unsigned musicians who will give you permission in return for something, or even just to get it out there.

  myspace.com has a ton of bands
