Another post about sync problems
There are many, many posts out there about sync problems in PP. Here’s another one: My sound is out of sync after import. Can anyone help?
All the solutions I’ve read come back to the same thing: Re-capture the footage using this, this and that. What if your budget is flat and you can’t afford to rent a deck? Is the only other option doing it by ear?
The footage was shot on DVCPRO50 and the mixer went right into the camera.
Here’s what Gspot says about the file, in case it matters:
Stream Type and A/V Interleave: Type “AVI” – IMPR “n.s.” – I/L “not supported”
Video Codec: 4CC “dv50” – Name “Matrox DVCPRO50 codec”
Video Bitrate “46045 k” – FPS “23.98” – Qf “5.556 bits/pixel”
Audio Codec: Name “PCM Audio”
Audio bitrate “1536kb/s (768ch, stereo)” – Fs “48000 Hz”
I know what some of this means. What I can’t figure out is if any of it matters.
And how can I tell if frames were dropped during capture? The monitor in PP doesn’t appear to skip any (…22-23-00-01-02…). The video and audio timelines are identical in size.
Any help is appreciated.
Warmest regards,
SGM
