  • scaling mask?

Posted by Boo-yah on February 22, 2006 at 12:09 am

ok, so I got a couple of masks animated in a comp and what i want to do now is to make them bigger, i tried scaling (Layer ->mask ->free transform points) but that only effects the scale/shape of the masks for one frame (yes, I tried selecting all in timelime, still…)
now mask expansion would be great if it wasnt that it expands beyond the mask (beyond the yellow thingies) I need the masks themselfes to expand or get bigger,
im making a reshape in the clip, thats why i need the same masks but bigger

If I understand correctly, double click one of the mask edges. It will show it’s bounding box. Drag a corner out to re-scale it. Hold shift down of course to keep the same w to h ratio.

yeah, this works but only for one frame in my animation.. what i want is to make the whole mask animation bigger, but maybe there is no better way than to do this keyframe by keyframe?
    in any case thanks

Then you have your keyframing button on or something. It should stay this way permanently. Until explicitley changed.

If I understand you, you’re trying to change the scale of an animated mask and the problem is you can only change it for one keyframe at a time. I’ve had this problem too, but luckily each time there weren’t that many keyframes. I’m not sure, but maybe adjusting the Mask Expansion instead of the scale will work. That way you’re not messing with the keyframes at all.

    Hope that helps.
