  importing Sony DCR-SR80 (HDD) native file footage

  I recently purchased the Sony DCR-SR80 (HDD) The native file is mpg2…I import to my pc and import to adobe pro 2.0.

  After loading it to the timeline…I play it back and the picture has lines through it. (I was able to adjust it by deinterlacing the video, but the sync of the a/v is off…overall the video looks a bit sluggish. I have tried to render the file first, it did not help. I also exported this to DVD from Pro 2.0 and the footage was choppy. maybe I should convert the original to AVI then export to DVD? If I do will I have a significant loss due to compressions? I have not tried this yet this is just an after thought…..thanks for any your help it is greatly appreciated….

  Premiere Pro cant help much with Mpeg 2 files.
  Option #1 Main Concept’s Mpeg plug-in for Premiere ($400)
  Option #2 Plug your camcorder into a analog/digital converter and capture as DV into Premiere ($160 and up).
  Option #3 Premiere Elements 3.0 ($99)

  It’s been awhile…I have Vista and Pre-pro is seeing the mpeg much better, including editing…but I’m sure this is not going to work well anyway….

  Question is…Does is there a mpeg plugin for this FREE…or reaaaal cheap…

  Sorry fellas just got laid off and looking to do the video thing again….love this stuff
