    Ok…

I just want to make sure I’m right before I go and buy a new capture card. I just upgraded to PP2 from PP1, only to find out that it doesn’t recognize the Canopus DV Raptor that I bought four years ago. All the Canopus files that I have play, but need to be rendered. I don’t have that much on there anymore, so I can live with that.

The Adobe site seems to only recommend AJA, but I couldn’t find an AJA card on their website with a DV input. What capture card are y’all using? Is the only necessity that it be OCHI compliant? If so, that should be easy to find at Fry’s. What cards have y’all found to work with your assorted systems, MOO-vers and shakers of the edit world?

    Thanks for reading!

Any ordinary OHCI firewire card should work fine for data transfer from DV tape. For analog to DV conversion most folks use their camcorders to pass thru an analog signal and convert it to DV. Others use converters like the Canopus ADVC 100 or Pyro AV Link to convert to DV.
The AJA thingy is for true capture and editing of uncompressed analog from big boys camcorders.
