I have imported a video that has mono audio recorded on it… I dragged the audio onto a stereo track in the time line. Now it shows the L ch has audio and the R ch does not. How do I get the audio duplicated onto the R ch as well?

It seems that when I export the audio to Audition copy and paste the left audio track into the right and play it, it sounds great. When I import it back into PPro it cuts off the end for some reason. The audio plays fine in WM player….

Go to the effects in Premiere and look under audio effects for “fill right” and “fill left.” Those effects duplicate the audio in their respective channels. Apply the appropriate one to your audio and you’re done.

great, is there a way to apply this to all audio in my project?

Apply the effect to your first clip. Select the clip in the timeline and hit Ctrl+C (copy). Select all your other clips in the timeline and hit Ctrl+Alt+V (paste attributes). That will apply whatever effects your first clip had to all the other clips.

This solution only works in the timeline. I’m not sure if there is another way you can do this to clips in the bin.

OK the fill left worked great while in PPro but once I import into AE that effect must not carry over?

I’ve never tried that, so I couldn’t tell you if that is normal behavior. Sorry about that.

“Fill left or Fill Right” does not actually create a true stereo track.

You could always just edit the video in AE and then after importing to PP put the edited video on top of it.
