It would seem that a poll like this would only produce a valid result from those that have used all NLEs.

How many people have done that and been able to record a “preference” based on this experience?

I W’l like to see the differencies between this NLE in a chart. This way we could have a better understanding and make better decisions. Personally think Mac is world apart and too expensive.
What FC make different from PP or AVID…
So far I’m very satisfy with PP2

I would like to know who’s voting. Amateurs or Pro’s? It’s really important what the guy with the clients and the preassure to deliver would use. My guess is Avid since they have 60% of the pro market segment. And then there are the FCP crowd. The Mac creatives. And then there’s all those people who haven’t discovered Premier Pro yet.

Is there anyone out there working on the clock with dedicated clients and investments in players and recorders (DVCPRO, BetaSP, Digibeta and HDCAM) and media servers that actually uses Vegas?

The survey was promoted to following groups

    1. Creative Cow Forums for the products polled
    2. Instructor lists for Apple and Avid which I belong to (there is no list for Adobe Instructors that I am aware of)
    3. People that have seen me speak at professional video conferences

Of course… others may have invited friends…
but the voting shoudl skew heavily towards pros (whateve that means as my definition is of course different than others)

No… it is still valid information…

People make preferences all the time based on ads, job conditions, personal expereine etc. The question is not which one do you prefer after using all the others… but which one do you choose to use (ow would you choose). Many people work with different softare tools… but if forced to choose one… which would it be.
