  Export to tape option grayed out – can’t export to tape

  I have been having trouble on and off getting my completed pojects exported to tape. Have have completed it several times in the past.
  I have the camera connected by firewire. I can see the video from the computer play onto the camcorder monitor when I hit enter on the keyboard.

  However, The export to tape option is grayed out. I am unable to select it. I have had this happen in the past, and I have been able to get the option turned on, but I don’t know what I did to get it back on. The video is completely rendered. I read in the PP help file that the camcorder can also be connected to the computer, and the record button can be pressed on the camcorder to record. This does not work for me since I have to be in thetransfer mode on the camera (I have to be in the other mode for the record to work.

  There must be something simple that I am overlooking.

  OK, I got it to work, but I am still not sure if I did this correct.

  I was able to get it to work bygoing through the motions to capture from the tape. I started the capture, and then stopped it, and went back to the export option,,,,,now the option is available.

  Is this the way it is suppose to be?

  The biggest thing to remember about Export to Tape and DVD is that the timeline seqeunce window has to be selected prior to going to export…

  otherwise Premiere doesn’t understand what you are trying to export…
