importing DVD footage
When I rip footage from a DVD (as Windows Media Video or .avi files) and import it into PPro, it doesn’t show full screen and I have to scale it up to fill the screen. When I do this I lose quality. However, when I watch this footage in other applications such as QT or Windows Media Player, it plays at a full screen high resolution. This leads me to believe it’s a PPro problem, and not something to do with the way I ripped it from the DVD. Anyone know anything about this?

What frame size are you ripping to? What size does it say in the project panel?

Aha! This seems to be my problem as the frame size of my project is 720×480 and my DVD clip is only 352×240. Although I can’t seem to figure out how to change the size of the DVD files I rip. I’ll have to do some more research, unless someone knows. I use InterVideo DVD Copy 5. Still don’t understand why I can watch these same clips in other programs at a high quality at nearly full screen! Thanks for the help though. Much appreciated.
