QT Reference export from PP2?
Posted by Ponyboy on June 29, 2006 at 3:17 amGreetings,
Is it possible to export the sequence using Quicktime reference like in FCP or Avid? I don’t seem to see an option in the export dialog box. Thanks in advance.

June 29, 2006 at 6:53 amSelect the clip(s) you want to export from the TL and go to the menus: File->Export->Movie->Settings->File-Type. Choose QuickTime in the Selection Box, click on the Video button in the same screen on the left and choose a QT compression like Sorenson Video 3 in the Compressor selection box that pops up. When back in the Export to Movie window, select the destination drive and folder.

So what they give you is the ability to copy unrendered sections of the timeline into a new file so you limit recompression. Just uncheck Recompress Always in Video Preferences.
I tried importing QT into PPro, and there is a compression hit as well as a gamma shift (seen in After Effects difference mode). But it would be interesting to see if QT Pro could import the DV AVI and not require recompression.
Has anyone tried this?
