    Hi, guys:

I recently captured a show using firewire. As I was capturing, I would occasionally bring up my email or an internet browser. When I did this, I noticed in the capture window that the video being captured would freeze momentarily, then go back to normal. I thought it was a just a capture window thing and that the video being captured wouldn’t be affected. I was wrong. I have instances throughout my show where the video and audio seems to jump — as though the camera was turned momentarily off and on, which I know wasn’t the case.

Has anybody else come across this?

    Thanks.

    Marc

If you are capturing, then capture. Don’t do anything else. Some PCs can do it, and others can’t. Yours can’t. So don’t do anything else while capturing.

I never touch my PC when capturing, rendering or exporting. This is a very intensive task that can’t be disturbed!
So you did answered your rethoric question.
I have a seperate PC for Internet. My editing PC’s are almost never connected to avoid viruses, etc.

You’re absolutely right. Guess I learned my lesson the hard way.

    Cheers,

Once I get around to upgrading my PC, I will probably test the boundaries of the new system also. I am waiting for the Conroe EE chip. When I can get it, it will be time to move on up. Still, some things will work, and others won’t.
