Free run time code problems, what am I missing??
I have a 4 camera show that had each camera recording iso and they were switching it to a program tape. All 5 sources had synced free run timecode. I decided to just digitize everything they shot so I would have all the takes when the client was here to edit. I was also going to try out the new mulit-cam feature for the first time with this project. To my surprise, when I went to sync up the cameras the timecode didn’t match! On closer inspection I saw that the starting timecode was correct, but from there, Premiere created seamless record-run timecode. So after the first time one of the cameras stopped rolling, my timecode was out of sync. I tried looking through the help file, I tried the Adobe website, and I searched here, and no one else seems to have had this problem. That makes me think I’m missing a setting somewhere. I looked everywhere for a setting that would let me specify the source had free run timecode, but I can’t find anything. Where am I going wrong? I thought I was all ready for this edit I’m having tomorrow, but now I’m sweating! Is there something I can do other than capture individual clips between the timecode breaks? Any help is greatly appreciated!
