I wonder if someone can help me with something that may be a simple problem to correct. For some reason when I export in the Adobe Media Encoder for streaming, or any low quality setting the final wmv file shows more video than I want at the top and bottom of the screen.

For example, when editing, the timeline window shows me a crop at top and bottom and gives my still photos the proper head room as I’ve set them; but when I export with low quality streaming files for the net the cropping is different– nearly 1/2″ more at top and bottom.

I realize that my TV monitor on my breakout box will crop IN more than normal, but the premiere timeline window, I thought was accurate. Why is the streaming export cropping OUTWARD?

Interestingly, when ever I export a good quality MPEG2 file there’s no problem at all.

This is really a problem for me, because, on some of my sit down interviews, I like to put fake letter boxing on top and bottom — meaning — I use the title designer to put bars at the top and bottom of the screen, and then use motion to get the interviewees head room just where I want it. That looks quite bad with the streaming export because it shows some of the video below the black bar. Even when I pull the bar all the way down, outside of view, in the title designer, it still shows video below it.

Can anyone help me with this problem? I can’t give you a screen shot because I can’t capture one frame in a low quality video. I can eventually show you the streamed video, but the client has not yet approved it for release. I’ll work on getting up a little clip that shows the example of what is happening and then post a link.

Thanks for any help any one can give me.
