Sorry to ask this again but it seems so strange no one has any feedback to this question. It must be something that is often encountered.

In 1.5 I could create a project using a Video for Windows setting choosing one of my installed codecs and then edit that without problem.

When I try to do the same thing in 2.0 i only get the project setting choice “desktop” – no “Video for Windows” choice is available. When I choose “desktop” and a codec and then use the appropriate codec in my timeline everything is marked red as in “needs rendering”. The clip plays back fine but the red marking is very distracting. And I supspect that rendering will produce previews on my disk that I don’t need.

    Does anyone know why?

    Thanks,

Let me put the question in another way:

Is there a way to edit anything other than the presets in PPro 2.0?

Did you ever get an answer to this problem?
