  Unsupported format or damaged file

  Got a new job and using Premiere Pro 1.5 for the first time. I’m importing .avi files and I keep getting the message “Unsupported format or damaged file”. Not sure why. I can play the file without problems outside of Premiere, but for some reason it won’t import. Is it a video codex issue? Thanks

  someone saved the files with the wrong extension. Issue resolved.
