    Hi,

I’m in the midst of installing the Adobe Production Suite Premium…this includes 5 DVD’s.

I’m currently still on DVD 1..and it has taken 55 minutes and indicates it is half way through DVD 1. At this rate it is probably going to take about 6 – 8 hours to install the entire suite.

    Is this normal??

    Thanks,

    Matt

Just did mine this past Sunday. It took about half an hour after a quick call to tech support.
I up graded from standard suite to premium suite, and I had trouble getting past the serial #’s for AE Pro I called Adobe and they told me that it was a known bug with the install, they gave me a mew set of #’s over the phone and everything went quick and smooth after that

    Hope this helps

    John

We had an install sit overnight and never finish.

Yeah, it’s an installer bug. Inspires confidence, doesn’t it?

I installed Production Studio Premium the other week. All five DVDs took about 40 minutes in total.

Curiously though, each DVD did have the status bar sit at the same point for ages then jump to the end.

Thanks for the feedback…I tried all yesterday and overnight…the little clock said about 819 minutes or some ridiculous figure…and still problems…the graphics on the Installer app go quite strange during the process..+ the bar moves incredibly slowly and it doesn’t always prompt me for the next DVD…so I’ve tried guessing when it is ready. Maybe I do need to be more patient….

Will contact Adobe today..thanks for the feedback..nice to know others have had issues.

Actually correction….it’s not nice that others have had issues (a tad comforting that I’m not the only one) but certainly not nice…

I’m just hoping to one day be able to get the software working!

For everyone who is not able to install Production Studio because it keeps hanging during the installation:

    Look at this document:
    https://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/332223.html

Go to step 19 and follow the instructions for refreshing the drivers. I had this exact problem and I managed to solve it by:

    1. Uninstall everything that installed on the previous attempt.
    2. Reboot and refresh the drivers as per step 19.
    3. Reboot and reinstall.

The problem seems to be in the driver database for the DVD drive and by doing this you will be recreating it.

This is not an issue that alot of people are seeing, but it certainly is an annoying one. If you follow the above steps before installing you will not have any difficulties.

    Thanks for that…

I also found this document very useful….

    https://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/328850.html

I basically managed to get mine working by doing a complete uninstall of my first attempts

Then I copied the entire DVD contents to my HD. as per instructions in above doc.

Then I ran install from setup.exe…after making sure to keep background programs out the way.

Apart from Illustrator I think I’ve got everything working ok now…

I think it may have been a background program that caused the grief the first time.

    Thanks again.
