I’m confused about the workflow for bringing a timeline from PP2.0 into AE7.0, without rendering first.

My timeline comes from an hour-long HDV clip which has been edited down to 10 minutes in PP2.0 (+Aspect HD) with cross-dissolves, titles, etc. I would like to bring this entire 10 minute timeline into AE7.0 in order to do color correction there on various parts of the clip, without having to render the timeline first in PP2.0. I’ve tried cutting & pasting the timeline into AE7.0 but things like titles and dissolves seem to get lost somehow. And I haven’t been able to see how dynamic link can be used to go from PP2.0 to AE7.0 (going the other way seems clear).

    I’d appreciate any help…

    In After Effects:

File > Import > (locate Premiere Pro project)

Thanks! And then after editing in AE7.0, can I bring it back into PP2.0? I tried saving it as an aep file in AE7.0, then using dynamic link in PP2.0, but things didn’t work quite right.

By “not working quite right”, I mean that it’s no longer in the timeline form that it was in when it left PP2.0 — it’s now been made into a continous clip.

When you bring the footage back in from AE, it would be handled as a clip and hence you would loose all your cuts.
