Transitions
I’ve been using Adobe premier pro for about one year… I kind of learned how to use it by myself (trial and error). Although I managed to learn pretty much all the basics (I am far from pretending being a pro), there is something that still I cannot fix, and that is the transitions between pieces of video… every time I apply a transition, the result is just awfull… no matter what method I use to cut the pieces, when I apply the transition and I play it the in and out frame will repeat and the final result is a horrible shaking so the hands (I pretty much edit surgical videos) seem to have Parkinson or something…. The final solution I found was to use a still frame of the last and first and apply the trans over them so there is no shaking but this is time consuming as hell and I guess that such a fancy software is not intended for that, right?.. I would appreciate any input

the decision to add a transition should be made when cutting the video. You want to insure that there are 15 acceptable frames beyond your IN and OUT points, because Premiere will add those frames or complain if there is no available “handle” on either end. Acceptable frames usually means no camera panning or other objectionable motion that will ruin the transition.
Also make sure you choose “Center at Cut” option for most transitions. -
Thanks…. the problem is that I din’t know how to add those frames… the handle…. I hace used all (I think) the methods to edit the clips and the result is always the same… I cut in ht e monitor, I cut with the razor and the handels seem to be always missing… what is the corret way to do it?
