So I finally decided to get down to business using my Premiere Pro 1.5 and my Matrox rt.x100 that I bought some months ago and have only piddled with. I want to archive (and color correct and noise reduce, etc.) some old home videos on VHS. I began some sampling in PP 1.5 (I bought the x100/Premiere/Audition/Encore bundle). I used Premiere’s capture function. The first piece went for 30 minutes without a hitch, making an approx. 6GB file. After that, Premiere would lock up as soon as I hit stop on any long clip that made a file bigger than 2GB. This is especially weird since I have Win XP Pro SP1, and not Win98 like the old days with my old Matrox Marvel.

I should be able to capture as much as I want in one big monster avi, right?

Also, Premiere “conforms” the audio for each file (the ones that worked), even though I have it set to capture audio at 48000.

Everything works perfectly with DV capture.

    My system: Abit mobo, P4 3GHz, 1GB RAM, rt.x100, nVidia FX5200 vid card, 80GB and 200GB SATA drives, Lite-On 8x DVD+-RW, SB Live audio.
