  Final Cut Pro to Premiere Pro 1.5 (No ducks!)

  Hello all —

  I’m in quite the situation. I need to take in a FCP timeline that’s about 70-80% finished editing (for a short film, roughly 30 minutes long) and finish it in Premiere Pro/After Effects/Etc. as the editor currently in charge was called away on emergency. I don’t have $500 to spend on Automatic Duck’s PPro Import to bring everything in automatically. The Duck wouldn’t help me anyway as the footage was shot in Panasonic 24p (which I’m told the duck won’t import/export anyway).

  What are my options and how can I get this done most efficiently?

  Why not continue cutting it in FCP for the experience.

  use an EDL export in FCP and then import that into premiere

  23.98 edls will not import properly into PPro 1.5
  I sure hope this works in PPro2
  We have this issue with an HDcam feature we are posting that was edited in FCP

  Well in response to “why not continue cutting in FCP” – I would if I could but I don’t have a Mac to edit it on.
