    Hello all,

i’m tracking shots with corner pin tracking to put slogans on buildings. the tracking is going superb and I’m getting there… but I am having a hard time with corner pin in general. either corner pin squashes my text or moves it way off screen. i started just trying to have my text layer in the same comp as the tracked mov, but then figured out that pre-comping the text obviously gives me more control. however, i;m now ending up with text pre comps on crazy scales like 6000×4000 something, to make it look good when tracked onto the mov…

it seems i’m learning this the (too) hard way here, which i don’t mind (i’m no doubt used to it)… but, does anyone know of a tutorial that covers corner pin and motion tracking with the corner pin option? i didn’t find one here on the cow….or if there is some obvious advice i’m missing as usual 🙂

greatful for advice on this, thanks /d

Warning, yikes was 0 for 2 on first replies on his last two attempts, so take this with a grain and maybe I won’t go 0 for 3 and strike out. Either way I’m off to paint a wall and stack firewood asap. That being said…

Here’s a quote from an Adobe Support Tut:

Choose Perspective Corner Pin from the Track Type menu in the Tracker Controls palette.

The Perspective Corner Pin track type keeps track of the position of four different feature regions and transforms the shape of a targeted layer accordingly.

This is from Adobe Support. You might have to register, but it’s easy.

This is pretty much the same, but it’s a video tut:

thanks for that, yikes! i’ve actually done the adobe tutes already, and it’s not really the tracking part which is giving me the hassle. i think i’m just being thick and hoping for a quick and easy way out. it’s more corner pin as a plug which insisting on squeezing my logo-layers and not (according to me) giving me a consistent behaviour. i’ll check out the vid-tute. i’m sure i’ve got that dvd lying around here somewhere. it looks dangerously familiar. anyway, thanks for helping! 🙂 /d
