Premiere Pro 1.5 is dropping frames during capture. However, I get no dropped frames when capturing with Scenalyer, Nero 6.0, or MovieMaker so I doubt it is my tape, camcorder, or firewire cable that is causing the dropped frames in PrPro. I’ve reinstalled PrPro and I still am getting dropped frames during capture. I’ve tried different, older tapes, and my other capture programs capture them just fine, not Premiere. My drives are defragged and I have no other programs running. Unless someone has a neat trick for me I guess I’ll have to start using Scenalyer. I’d rather not as capturing right in Premiere is more convienent. Here are my system specs:
    Pentium IV 2.8Ghs
    2 gig of ram
300 gig systme drive/defragged with plenty of room
    XP Pro
I have been capturing to my OS drive so maybe that is the problem, but those other capture programs are capturing to my OS drive without any problems. Just a thought.

Here is a screen shot of my Windows Task Manager and the processes that are running.

For starters, I would close iTunes.

Do you have any antivirus software running and in particular realtime scanning?

I will quit that iTunes process. I did have Norton but deleted the whole entire thing-everything- but it didn’t help. They only thing I can think of that has changed from when caputer used to work is that I’m now using XP Pro with SP2 whereas before I was using XP Home with SP2. I’m going to try to reinstall PrPro again onto my 2nd internal drive. That’s how I used to have it.
