We have a video in Premiere Pro 1.5 and we need to get it into Final Cut Pro. We have decided to go about it the long way and exported to tape and then imported and cut up the entire timeline in Final Cut.

My question is, is there anyway to import a Premiere Pro project file into Final Cut Pro? Thanks a lot.

Yes, it can be done, but you would need to purchase a 3rd party convertor from Automatic Duck. Considering that the price of AD is approx $500, you might want to go the longer way, unless you plan on doing this frequently.

Automatic Duck does not make an exporter for PPro. The only ways that I know of doing this is the way you have done it or save an EDL from PPro and open it and recapture in FCP.
I wish there was an exporter for PPro. But not right now.
