  Adding to timeline smushes other clips

  Having a problem in PPro..I have a clip and when I add another clip next to it in the timeline, if I am not very careful (and I mean surgically careful) it will over lap the clip on the left taking off a few frames and throwing off the entire project…in premiere 6.5 you just started to add it and it stuck to the clip like a magnet…how to avoid this….thanks

  Hi Jack…

  Actually, you called it. Look in the timeline window on the left under the timecode display…there’s a button that looks like a magnet…(SNAP)

  …and they shall stick like a magnet once again.

  Or simply hit the “S” key. On, off, on, off etc.

  or set the CTI and use insert/overlay commands instead of drag and drop.
