    Hi,
I’ve started using Premiere Pro which makes my Raptor RT redundant. I have an ADVC 50 which i use straight into a standard firewire port. Now after taking out the RT card and removing the RT Software i open Prem Pro and all my Canopus encoded AVI files go ‘off line’ as the codec isn’t recognised! I have ProCoder which can read the files and convert them to standard microsoft DV files which Premiere can deal with. How do i get Premiere to use the Canopus encoded files without Canopus hardware? The ADVC 50 encodes to AVI’s with the Canopus codec but Premiere cannot read them!!! Yet ProCoder can? Will i have to convert everything? What do i need to do to get Pro to read the Canopus DV files?
    Thanks,
    Tim

Canopus had a free utility to convert thier files to Microsoft DV. Your OS is wrapping video captured wuth the ADVC 50 as Canopus AVI’s. Removing the codec in Device Manager will solve that but leave Procoder and Pro unable to read those older files.
I have the ADVC 50 and it works fime with Pro.
