    Hi all,
I need to capture some DVCpro footage into my machine. I am going to hire a deck. But what are the minimum upgrades I need on my machine to do this? I am thinking of buying either a decklink card, or a canopus ADVC if it will help. But I’m mostly worried about my hard drive speed. I’m OK to capture at 25 rather than 50. Maybe I can match 2 SATA drives and RAID them? even SATA II with the 16Mb cache?

    Currently I just have:
    GA-7N400 Proo
    AMD Barton 2500+
    2G DDR
    160G SATA 7200

    Cheers for the help

If you are capturing DVCPro50 then 2 raided Sata drives will work just fine. The decklink is much better than the Canopus card.
