  interlacing in monitor window

  I just started working on a project with Premiere Pro and am noticing that in the preview window (monitor) the image has interlacing artifacts in it. I’m not sure how to get rid of this. Any suggestions?

  Craig’s link will probably help but there are a couple of other reasons.

  LCD screens with their slow refresh rate often show what appear to be artifacts similar to interlacing when the image is fine when viewed on a CRT display or external monitor.

  The other issue is that for some reason, and a few people here in the UK have found this, that the latest Matrox driver install (UK) sets the interlace to lower field first for PAL (should be upper field first) but the project remains correct for the PAL or NTSC version leading to reversed interlace fields.

  I ended up having to individually change the field order, clip by clip, on 70 clips to correct the field order. As soon as I get the chance I’ll change the settings to correct this on ingest.
