  simulating getting dark

  I was lucky to find an ancient wood in which to film a chase. because this wood is privately owned my filming time had to be at the convienence of the owner. I had to film in the afternoon and this day was overcast but still very bright. I need to try and make this scene look as if it is getting dark over time. I have used the brightnes filter, keyframing the brightnes to darken the clips but this does not really seem to achieve the effect.
  Also I was going to use the tutorial found on wrigly video to add some mist but Quicktime filters are not in PPro 1.5. is there an alternative
  Can anybody offer help with these two problems

  Try adding keyframed blue also, the cooler the image the more like night it gets.
