    Hi mates,

I briefly did a test to export AAF from Premiere from a post place to my ProTools (with DigiTranslator).

However, I am unable to open the AAF in ProTools. It came as a small file (about 3Mb) with no embedded audio files. The editor mentioned that in his Premiere, there’s only an AAF export function and no settings to set whether to embed audio..etc..

I’ve had success with OMF files from editors using FCP, so just wondering how should the editors export AAF from Premiere properly so that it includes all audio?

    Thanks & Regards,
    [Charles]

You might want to look at the OMF Exporter plug in for PremPro – just released (today) by AutomaticDuck.

Works very well ( I was on the beta test program)

I had the same problem and had to meet a deadline and did not know of Automatic Duck new release.
I worked around the problem by using a Avid DV express.

So if you know anyone with an Avid DV Express (or any other avid) export your sequence from Adobe Premiere Pro with AAF.

Import it into the avid. Batch Link the footage and audio files. Export from avid using OMF 2.0

I know it is a ceazy workaround but if you have to do it and again I did this before Automatic Ducks OMF export plug.
