  • Selecting and altering keyframes from multiple layers?

Posted by Gizmo1990 on February 3, 2006 at 10:44 am

Could anyone tell me if it’s possible to select keyframes (AE7) from multiple layers in a composition and then scale or move them all?

    Any help appreciated.

yes. just select all the layers you’re interested in, press U to reveal all keyframes, and highlight your exposed keyframes by dragging in an empty space in the timeline (this creates a box you can loop around your keyframes)

    Thanks for the reply muiisal!

Cool that works for moving the keys but how do I perform a scale on them?

I feel like I just want to drag the furthest key and scale them all up? I bet its not as easy as that though…?

    Any more help appreciated.

I’m not certain what you mean by you wanting to ‘scale’ them. If you mean you have keyframes every 2 frames apart, and you want to change it so they are 4 frames apart – then you need to–

highlight your keyframes. Click the end keyframe while holding ALT and drag. This will extend them…

    Is this what you mean?

    Thats exactly what I mean!

Fantastic! Thank you so much! 🙂

Where the heck was that in the online help? Maybe I’m just looking under the wrong headings…
