Logo Issues
So I have a client that wants a logo for his project to look like it is being cut out… like this… http://www.66thdiv.com Now I know that this is possible with After Effects but I am wondering if there is an easier way than drawing a mask around a complex shape?

Depending on the shape, you might want to give Autotrace a go. It’s located under the “Layer” menu. It can sometimes do an ok job. Like I said, the shape and complexity of the logo will make a big difference. Give it a go.

Does the client not have a .eps of his logo?

Thanks for your help I’ll give autotrace a try. Unfortunatly the client only has a .jpg. Thanks Again

To avoid the wasted time cleaning up traced JPGs, I indicate the need for an EPS version of the logo in my estimate. If I have to trace a JPG, I then bill extra for the time.
If they do print materials, they have the EPS. They just don’t want to hunt for it.
Just a thought. 🙂

I have already discussed that with him… but he’s a cop that is assigned to be a video specialist because he took a class at our local community collage.
