    Hi

I’m looking for advice for a new card with good drivers for Premiere Pro.

I had a DVStorm, but got fed up waiting for Canopus to produce decent drivers for Pro. I replaced it with a Matrox RT.X100, but now I’m having a lot of hassle with field order issues, due to the card using upper field in PAL.

I don’t need HD (yet) – all my work is still DV, but I do need a card that works well in both Premiere Pro and After Effects, uses lower field and has a good quality realtime chromakeyer. Quality and reliability are much more of an issue than price.

What are other people using? Any advice gratefully received!

    Best regards

    Andy

I think the Matrox RTX card is about all that’s left…

Running PPro on a standard 1394 card on a fast system isn’t unworkable. We do most of our SD work this way these days…

I use ADVC1394 card from canopus, and it works fine…I’ve been using that for last 3 years with Premiere 6x and Pro 1.5, no complains so for, great Analog and DV captures. If you need to speed up AE preview, use open GL card that comes from ATI FireGL X1 or X2, vram 128mb is good, but 256mb is better.
