    I’ve posted this question on the Macromedia Flash forums, but since it bridges both Flash and Premiere, I thought I’d post it here as well. Hopefully one of you clever people will be able to provide the answer!

    ===========================================================================

    Hi all –

    I’m trying to get my beautifully edited video into Flash as an FLV file.

    I have Premiere (which is where I edited it) but not After Effects – so I can’t use the FLV export plugin. Instead I export the video from Premiere as a Quicktime MOV file, and then import this into Flash to convert to FLV.

    It’s a bit long-winded, but it works – almost. The difficulty is that Premiere’s exported files don’t seem to contain all the necessary metadata. This means Flash’s “Complete” event does not trigger once the movie finishes playing.

    I have tried exporting to other formats than Quicktime, but still the Complete event fails. The only way I can get the event to trigger is to “re-edit” the movie as I import it into Flash. Even if I only drop off a frame like this, the “re-edit” seems to close the movie file with an ending that does trigger the Complete event.

    Unfortunately, this solution prevents me from using Sorenson Squeeze Pro (where it does the conversion to FLV, rather than Flash). Can someone tell me what is needed to trigger the Complete event? How can I make this work?

    Thanks in advance.
    Andrew

    Just a few minutes ago I exported a DV.avi from Pro and used Squeeze 4 to create a .flv file. worked fine, although I dont have Flash to import it in to…the client will do that.

    I’d be interested to know if your client has problems with the Complete event… 🙂
