Premiere Pro = FCP for Windows?
Posted by Eric Sharon on May 3, 2005 at 12:45 pmHow would you compare this two? Are they capable of pretty much the same?

May 3, 2005 at 2:49 pmThe are very similar. I copied the FCP tutorials to do the Premiere Pro tutorials for https://www.lynda.com and the end result was pretty much the same, even accounting for the fact that the FCP guy is more talented than I am.

May 3, 2005 at 6:45 pmThe interface is almost identical, except for the fact that FCP ‘looks’ a tad bit better. If you can edit with Premiere Pro, you will have absolutely no problems editing on FCP. Even a few of the shortcuts are similar.

May 3, 2005 at 8:38 pmTo add on to what Aanarov said…you actually have the option in 1.5 of using all of the short cuts from FCP or Avid Express.
I use a combo of PP and FCP short cuts. (which means no one else can know my system, nor can I switch quickly back to someone else’s….)
Having worked on FCP 3 and PP 1.5 I would say that yes they are very very similar. Although I prefer how Encore and PP are more integrated.
