Pair of SATA drives raided for video source files, a ATA133 Primary Master IDE for a system drive and a ATA133 Secondary Master IDE for Misc files, Conformed audio, Scratch Disks and Preview files.

    C: 1 IDE 80gb drive OS-programs
D: 1 IDE 80gb drive dedicated page file (I have 2gb of RAM and want to set page file to min/max 4gb)
    E: 1 SATA 120gb drive audio/gfx/previews
    F: 1 SATA 160gb drive dedicated video

The only reason I say 80gb drives for C: and D: is that they are so cheap from places like Newegg…The $5-$10 difference between those and 40-60gb drives is neglible to me…I will be getting an ADS Pyro “breakout box” and running the latest version of Premiere Pro…I got the P4 3.2ghz CPU…

    Thanks for your time…

I use 2gig of memory and what I do for a Page File is to make a 4gig FAT32 partition on the system drive, never had a problem, then you don’t have waste a drive.

I’ve got two independent SATA 120Gb drives running off SATA 1 & SATA 2. One with the O/S XP (Basic format) and the other for conformed/tempory files. Another 2 x 250Gb SATA Raid for video files and 4 x 200GB SATA drives (independent) running off a PCI SATA card for archives. No PATA IDE drives at all.
The system runs like the wind. Got 4Gb DDR400 Dual RAM but there wasn’t much change after 2Gb with Premiere Pro. This is the best setup I’ve found (keeping tempory files away from video files away from system files)
