Dripping ink
Hi everyone,
I’m creating an ink-like droplet and I’m having some trouble getting the right effect. When it’s dripping, the ink is highly viscous, so at first I want it to build up on the bottom of the first object (imagine the edge of a table) and as it builds up it elongates. Once the surface tension snaps, the ink drop is free to fall and then disperse on the flat page below.
So far I’m using the Trapcode suite. The fluid dynamics from Trapcode Form (especially with the teardrop object) look good, but the fluid dynamics setting treats the droplet as if it’s already underwater rather than falling dynamically through air, which is what I need. When the ink drop splashes on the paper, I think I can use the bounce setting from Trapcode Particular, but that’s also a totally different effect.
I’m new to Trapcode, so I could use a little guidance here. How would you approach this effect?
Thanks in advance!
