  • inconsistant AE behaviour when updating image-sequence footage…. why ?

    Hi there,
maybe this has been covered already but…. I often render multi-passes animations out of my 3d package.
I then load the first rendered images in AE to start working on the compositing while the 3d software is rendering in the background.

From there I get 3 different AE behaviours… I would say randomly :

1 (what I’d like to happen all the time) :
AE automatically reloads each image-sequences as thje 3D software renders the frames out, all I have to do is extend the layers in the timeline

    2 (less convinient) :
AE doesn’t add the newly renderd frames on it’s own, I have to reload each individual image sequence (RMB -> reload footage)

    3 (boring) :
reload fottage doesn’t do anything, I need to go RMB -> replace footage -> file and relink each and every passes individually.

Why is that and is there a way to make AE stick to behaviour #1 ?
