I’m writing on the AE forum because that’s the program I’m most familiar with. But if you know a better program/forum, please suggest!

I’m trying to do a very basic Face-Swap, just like in Snapchat, but where the faces are from two separate videos.

I’ve seen many tutorials on how to achieve this with AE, mocha, and/or other programs. Here is some nice AE presets that utilize its face tracking function. But all of these require lots of tracking, alignment, fine-tuning, and other typical VFX steps… I’m fine with doing that work, but… so far, nothing I’ve seen achieves the Snapchat look.

I know Snapchat’s filter is low res, and doesn’t work great when people turn their heads — but I don’t need that. My video can look janky. I just want to take my face and put it on a clip from a movie.

I figured it’d be simple since Snapchat is able to do this live, with just a cellphone’s processor. So surely I must be able to do it pre-recorded, on a MacBook Pro, no? Well I have to find a way….

If you know of anything, let me know — Thank you for your help!
