  Importing fla from Animate to After Effects: “An error occurred while importing this file. Please try again.”

  Hi!

  I’m trying to import a .fla file from Adobe Animate into Adobe After Effects.

  Either when using Import / File or drag and drop, AE freezes for a moment, then a progress bar appears, and finally an error message reading “An error occurred while importing this file. Please try again.”

  This happens both in AE 2019 and 2020. I’ve tried using my file and a couple example .fla files from the Adobe site, and the same error occurs.

  Has anyone experienced / solved this error?

  Oh wow, that sounds like a bug in the system if even the example files don’t work. Have you tried contacting Adobe technical support for this? They were really good helping me out a little while back.
