We’ve just gotten a large LCD to show renders but I’m having trouble setting it up. We’ve got it set up as the third monitor. Now, in After Effects Im trying to set up that renders show up on that LCD as well as the desktop. Ive been trying different settings in the Preferences for Vidoe previews but am geting an error: “After Effects warning: couldn’t open QuickTime video output component”. Do I need a specific Quicktime. Had QT 7.0.3 and had other issues went back to 7.0.1. Will a different QT version help? Have OSX 10.3.9.

Didn’t see specific answers in searches.

    Any help appreciated.

Hmmmmm…. I get that same error message if AE can’t access the aja box because another application is using it and won’t let go. So, I would assume that error message has more to do with the output card than with AE or Quicktime version.

What are you using for an output? Io? Kona? If it’s an aja product call them, their tech support is great.

Thanks you got me half way there. So they are talking about a hardware Quicktime device. Nope don’t have. But did try digital cinema desktop and got a preview on my second monitor. Close but I need it on the third. If you know a quick answer great. Otherwise its a display set up issue and if I play with enough settings I might be able to figure it out.

    Thanks
