  How do I Copy & Paste Effects with roll-down options closed?

  Hello,

  I’m working on a pretty layer-heavy project, and even with pre-comps as often as I can, I’m still looking a lot of layers.

  So given that, my issue is with copying and pasting layer effects with the rolldown options CLOSED. I can’t seem to get them to paste CLOSED. I close them on the layer I’m copying from, but when I paste onto the new layer it rolls down all of the options for each effect, which is annoying when I’m trying to alter one of the effects slightly and I have to scroll and scroll to get to the option I want.

  So I’m wondering if anyone knows a way to copy and paste effects from one layer to another without having the roll-down options all open upon pasting.

  Would be a real time-saver, but it’s not the end of the world if that’s just how it works.

  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  Not that I know of, but if you only want to adjust one or two things, try using the Expression Controls in your effect and pickwhip their values to the bits you’re changing, then when you copy the effect, you can just adjust these values without having to collapse everything each time.
