  Parent layer to another shape layer’s path

  I am using a lower third template where circle shape layers are animated along paths and I want to swap out the circles for clouds. I have tried using a basic pick whip expression to follow the trip path but it doesn’t move the same distances. What am I doing wrong?

  It’s slightly hard to picture what you’re trying to achieve. Can you post the project file or screenshots of the comp and timeline?

  If you want to swap out the circles for Clouds, have you tried replacing the circle layers by holding ALT and dragging the cloud image onto the circle layer?
