Convert an old AE 5.5 Project
Posted by Dave Moore on June 1, 2019 at 7:33 pmHi
Would anyone still have an old version of AE – I need to convert the Project from 5.5 to the latest CC 2019.
Any help would be fantastic
Regards
Dave

The project file was created in version 5.5 and I don’t have a copy of AE 5.5, only AE CC 2019

June 2, 2019 at 7:48 amThat’s odd. It worked a year ago from CS5 to CC2018.
In that case I would go with Dave’s suggestion.

June 2, 2019 at 8:43 amThat is an old file! AE v5.5 was released in 2002.
If it helps any, the last version of Ae that could open a file from v5.5 is Ae CS4 (which itself is now quite old).

I am really looking for this old file to be converted by someone who still has an older version of AE.

June 3, 2019 at 1:14 pmPost the project – if it’s CS5.5, I have a version of CS6 here, I keep around just for that purpose. If it’s After Effects 5.5—I don’t know if I have anything that goes back that far….

I think that version may convert the file. Are you able to do it for me? I can send you an email or an upload link

June 3, 2019 at 8:27 pmThe last icon in the reply box will allow you to upload the file on the Cow, or if you want to put it on Dropbox and post a link, that will work too. I’m leaving 5EST today, so if you post it before then, I’ll take care of it today, otherwise, it will be tomorrow.
