transform Skewed objects
Hi!
This is my first post in here, I hope I am following the rules properly.
I seem to have a problem when moving an object that has the Skew effect on it. Whenever i animate the position i.e. horizontally it also moves vertically. I tried changing the anchor point of the effect making it follow the position but it doesn’t seem to work. Does anybody know how i can apply the skew so that this doesn’t happen?Thank you!

I guess you’re Skewing using the Distort -> Transform effect.
The Things, you’re applying it to a Text-layer, and a Text-layer is special because it is vector, and continuosly rasterized.
In effect this means it is first positioned according to it’s transform properties (scale, rotate…), and then effects are applied on the text-layer, as if it is as big as the composition.Non-vector layers first have their effects applied, and then are moved. So if you skew a bitmap, it wouldn’t do this.
Two options:
One: also use the position parameter inside the transform effect, not the layer’s position.Two: Skew it vectorially with a text-animator:
- Twirl open the text layer in your timeline
- Click the Animate pullout and select “Skew”
- Click on “More Options” and select “Anchor Point Grouping” -> “All”
- Adjust Skew and Skew Axis

I think you can just precomp it after you skew and animate the position on that pre comp
